Well today saw the first off road adventure of the year so here is a
very quick report.
After many wet Saturday mornings and waking only to find yet another I
decided enough was enough so phoned Alan and said were going to
Guilahoulish, a trip we have done many times before. There were those
who would mock and laugh and not think I would do the trip today but
they could stay at home and fit a dishwasher.
I picked Alan and we drove to Lochdon where we parked in the usual place
and started of only to get a few yards only to discover my rear shock
was a bit low on air so back to the van for a few squirts of air and
tighten a few of Alan's spokes (crap wheel builder) so of we set again.

When we turned of the main road we
started to ride up the track which was probably the wettest I have ever
seen it but quite easy going as all the water had washed away mud and
the tracks were good and hard and it didn’t take long to get to the
ruined house where we stopped for the usual mars bar.

So with a heavy shower heading our way we headed on
but on reaching a certain tree we reckoned Jim had been round recently
as I left a punctured tube hanging on it and now it was gone.
We then carried on round the top of the cliffs up past Portdonan onto
the road and back to the van.
It was a good trip for the first of the year and we are looking forward
to many more “after I buy a new bike” as mine is fcked….
