Davies  Cheap Lessons on Cycling Tactics and Maintenance

The Cycle of Cycling

Not for them bad bad Dirty Boy Mountain Bikers.. No Way!
Oh No, No, No, Sireee...Only the pure DavieBoy stuff here!

We will start from the beginning with the basics and build up to the advanced professional side of things.
Yes.... I will take you on a magical trip from a Little Bike Slogger.... to a serious challenger for the..... "Tour de France"....... err I mean the "Tour of Mull".

LESSON 1

Right we will start with the most important part of cycling ....

Fitting mudguards....

How to fit mudguards, a practical guide.
First cut the effers so that they don't need to go under the brakes.
Second, cable tie them to anything that doesn't move too much.
Thirdly, use more cable ties to make sure!
Fourthly, always carry more cable ties with you just in case, oh and a knife in case you have to cut them off and throw them in a field if the rubbing gets to you.

Grahams Excuses

If you lose time anywhere always say things like, this is in my rest period,
or, I am training scientifically and don't want to push myself yet.

Or the really good one is to just get off and stare at your bike and shake your head and fiddle with a bit until everyone comes back and asks what is wrong, you then jump on your bike and leave them standing, except if they are already on a ferry.
