Isle of Mull Cycling Club
Constitution
1. The name of the group shall be
"Isle of Mull Cycling Club" (or such other name as the group may
decide at an Annual General Meeting) and this document is the
governing document for Isle of Mull Cycling Club.
2. Isle of Mull Cycling Club is established for the following
objects: • Encourage more people to cycle • Raise the profile of cycling
• Improve conditions for cycling
3. Isle of Mull Cycling Club is the only branch. In particular
Isle of Mull Cycling Club may hold funds in designated accounts
for the purpose of furthering the above objects. Such funds may
only be spent in agreement with the Chair and Treasurer of Isle
of Mull Cycling Club, subject to the financial regulations
agreed by the management committee of the Isle of Mull Cycling
Club.
4. Membership of Isle of Mull Cycling Club is on an equal
opportunities basis, open to anyone on the Island of Mull.
5. Isle of Mull Cycling Club shall be governed by a committee
comprising 3 members who shall be appointed by all members
attending the AGM. The committee shall be known as the
“Management Committee".
6. The Management Committee shall comprise the following roles:
• Chair (Coordinator) • Secretary • Treasurer
7. Members of the Management Committee shall be elected for a
period of one year at the AGM. Candidates will nominate
themselves and be seconded by another member. In the event of
more than one person being proposed the matter shall be resolved
by a show of hands or by secret ballot (method chosen to be at
discretion of the Chair).
8. Isle of Mull Cycling Club and its Management Committee shall
meet not less than once a quarter and all members of Isle of
Mull Cycling Club may attend to take part in decisions.
Once a year an Annual General Meeting shall be held. All members
may attend and vote on decisions and elections of Management
Committee members.
9. The constitution may be amended at a properly convened Annual
General Meeting by a two thirds majority.
